Art Speaks

Curator of Education Martha Johnson will present “What’s Art Got to Do With It? American Collection, Locally Grown” on April 3, 2009 at New Covenant Schools in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Her address is part of a panel discussion for New Covenant’s “Art Speaks” Community Lecture Series. She will present alongside Ken Myers, former arts and humanities editor for Morning Edition and All Things Considered, and current president of Mars Hill Audio. Myers will discuss “Learning to See in an Age of Distractions.” Admission is free. 

On Saturday, April 4, 2009, 2-5 p.m. at the Maier Museum of Art, New Convenant School eleventh grade students will offer live impersonations in the character of selected American artists in the Maier Museum.  Take an in-depth look at the artwork and the artist.  Tours are offered every 15 minutes.  Admission is free..
